ABOUT LOUISE LIPMAN

Louise learned about art in the best of all possible ways: by visiting artists in their studios and seeing through their own eyes.

Her first professional art project was launched in 1976. It was a book about Canadian artists called TWENTY/TWENTY, created in collaboration with her sister Marci Lipman and published by Lester and Orpen Dennys. Including such luminaries as Alex Colville, Christopher Pratt, Jack Bush, Jean Paul Lemieux, and William Kurelek, it became a Canadian best seller and its popular success encouraged them to produce two more books - Images and Horizons. During this period, Louise had the good fortune of traveling across the country to interview each artist in their studios, a personal encounter which further deepened both her appreciation for fine images, and her knowledge of the processes involved in their production and reproduction.

During that time she also started The Louise Lipman Collection, which produced award-winning fine art posters for homes and offices worldwide. Louise continues to work with artists to create beautiful and accessible images for LLC..
