Suitable for Framing
I got my start in art working for my sister Marci at her Marci Lipman Graphics store. One day her friend Peter Gzowsky suggested we do a book on Canadian art that would be "suitable for framing". Next thing I knew I was writing letters to Alex Colville, Christopher Pratt, The Jack Bush estate, and 17 other famous and what is now referred to as emerging artists, offering a paltry $125 ( even by 1978 standards) and 3 books as payment. They all said yes! And a bestseller was born, the first of 3.
I got a healthy Canada Council grant for book 2 and Marci and I traveled coast to coast interviewing the artists. What a trip.
